Easy Christmas Decorating: Our top 3 ideas

Everyday we are inspired by so many things, it's hard to narrow down our top 3 decorating tips. Our criteria; easy, time saving ideas that create impact. In fact, so easy that it will take you less than 5 minutes to do- what could be easier than that?

  • Fill hurricanes, jars, bowls or any other decorative vessel with coloured baubles- mix plain or decorative ornaments in the same hue for greatest impact. For an effortless decorative approach, try weaving ribbon (in a complimentary colourway) as you layer your ornaments. This idea can transition from entry way, to kitchen to coffee table.
  • The humble white basics get a real work out this time of year! A plain white cake stand can look so festive with a few creative additions. Layer coloured paper (makes it easier to catch the wax and clean up), a collection of candles, some greenery from the garden and pop in some red berry sprigs (real or faux). This can also double as a center piece.
  • Pick up some inexpensive red ribbon and a mix of plain green wreaths from your local craft store (a bit more than 5 minutes) and hang in a varied pattern in your favourite window. Try hanging a single wreath on the doors of bedroom, bathrooms and powder rooms, to help spread the festive cheer throughout the house.
