Preparing for House Guests

Hasn't Christmas Season suck up quickly this year? We have a mini mountain of house guests over the festive holiday period and while we can't wait to entertain and enjoy summer fun, our guest bedrooms are still in hibernation!

The good news is...we are starting from scratch. The not so good news is, there's a lot to get done before they arrive.  If you are anything like me, you'll be starting with the basic's: Bed! This has been my inspiration:

Here's what I've been dreaming up: Gorgeous new tufted bed, white linens, lot's of pillows, pretty lamps, artwork, stools (to unpack bags upon) and of course a pair of lovely bedside tables. I'd love big one's like these, but alas they won't fit!

We are loving our very own, Adler bed as the show stopper for our guests. A super soft and luxurious bed head makes sitting up in bed so much more comfortable... perfect pose for breakfast in bed!

Thinking of our French Column table lamps on either side of the bed. A slim bench or vintage luggage rack will be fabulous for the end of the beds, don't you think? A rug under the bed would feel so soft underfoot- we are loving our new collection of rugs....but which one will I choose? I know I need a mirror in here somewhere.... Maybe in the quatrefoil style? If there's a room, a wing back chair...

There's a lot to do in such a short space of time. I love to spoil my guests with a few thoughtful yet easy details to help make their stay more comfortable and memorable. Apart from the necessary towels, I add a scented candle (with matches nearby), a broad selection of books and magazine, pretty water pitcher with glasses and some home-made treats. Hands down better than a fruit basket! At this time of year, I will hang a simple and pretty wreath over the window- spreading the Christmas cheer throughout the house.

Our new container of beds arrives in the next 2 weeks, so it'll really be down to the last minute getting the key pieces into the room....leaving little time for styling.
